i appreciate your willingness to take this journey alongside me. although there may be twists and turns, plaited braids in curly hair— may our experiences secure our fate, as my mother secured mine.

I am very interested in non-action as a concept.

What makes someone hesitant? When it’s all said in done, action is extremely important to getting to where you imagine yourself to be. Below, you will find progress updates, ways to support my work, and a bit about me/what you can expect from vylestudios.

HOW ARE YOU PRACTICING PRESENCE?

  Here, you will find navigation for my (in progress) storefront, my visual art, and my photography.

  The page will serve as a portfolio for my purposes, but will also host the items I vend. (to be populated)

  A little birdie encouraged me to not only pursue presence, but introduce visual consistency on my platforms. My first thought is to create a separate cover-photo for all of my work.

• At the moment, I am speaking with event organizers, and will share information on my future live-drawing pop-ups.

COMMERCE

— VYLE ETSY

• I am experimenting with hosting my projects on Etsy. Prices on Etsy will be higher than in-person and on my site, as Etsy charges per listing. Etsy, as a marketplace, advertises storefronts and allows for a level of buyer flexibility that I am willing to learn from. Come July, I will reconsider Etsy as a platform depending on the response and my needs.

  • Etsy gave me a bit of trouble uploading the Cvntissimo Sticker Set (which is now ONLY available on holographic paper). I had to set variations for each color and save in between. If I tried to populate the listing and sell all at once, i’d get an error fee.

  • I attached the stickers on a black backing board, which will be great for vending shows. I can’t lie, it’s hilarious, and a bit humbling, to have a sticker of myself. This one sells the least, because why wouldn’t it? It reminds me of a paper doll. So funny.

    

ALSO— I made about 9x12 =( approximate amount) of 3.5in x 2in business cards by hand, and I’m excited to share them with you all. who would have thought.

WHAT IS IT ALL FOR? AND WHO IS VYLE CVNT?

i am an artist who holds an MA in Art who is pursuing every creative venture I possibly can until i find a passion. Oddly enough, I believe I know what I like. I think I was taught to feel uncomfortable with my interest. I believe that the idea that I am the only person interested in what I enjoy is a cognitive distortion.

“Vyle Cvnt” is an artist and performer (stage character) clinically diagnosed with evil bitch syndrome, which allows her to do what she loves regardless of what men, friends, or family may think of her. She is an embodiment of the constant questions I would ask myself as a child. Why can’t I wear this? What does it mean to be good, and why does it seem I must find the answer alone? Why is a woman loving herself so dangerous? Vyle believes that if everyone could pursue what actually made them happy, and support who they truly cared about, the world would be a better place. Once utopia was reached, she would run off and build a mountain cottage in isolation.

And what is it all for? Well, it’s for me. But not really me. It’s more for little me. The kid who didn’t do a lot of what she loved because it wouldn’t matter to anyone else. And couldn’t distinguish what she loved, because it all felt a bit painful. Pure cognitive distortion. All I can hope is that if I do it, you do it too.
